Wholesale motorcycle parts fitment checklist
Use one evidence trail for every CNC or aftermarket part before you ask a supplier to quote. The same method works for a wholesale motorcycle parts distributor, repair shop or export importer.
1. Identify the exact motorcycle version
Model names are not enough for a production decision. Record the market, production year, engine or generation code and the side of the motorcycle. Add a clear photo of the original mounting point and a ruler or caliper reading where the part interfaces.
- Yamaha Y15ZR parts supplier: include year, brake-lever pivot and handlebar diameter before comparing adjustable levers.
- Honda Wave 125 accessories: record the exact Wave125 generation and rearset or footrest mounting holes.
- NMAX 155 windshield: confirm model year, screen bolt pattern and the intended height before asking for a mould or bulk price.
- LC135 footrest: send the bracket photo, hole spacing and left/right requirement.
2. Normalise the technical specification
Ask every supplier to quote the same fields. This makes CNC billet motorcycle parts and lower-cost alternatives comparable without hiding a material or process change.
- Part name, drawing or reference photo and quantity per SKU.
- Material grade, thickness or machining scope; for aluminium, record the proposed grade instead of assuming it.
- Dimensions, thread, hole position, tolerance and mating component.
- Surface finish such as anodising, powder coat, brushing or raw metal, including colour reference.
- Logo, laser-marking and neutral-packaging restrictions.
3. Compare MOQ, timing and export packing
Wholesale motorcycle parts pricing changes with quantity, colour mix, tooling and packing. Request separate trial and repeat tiers, and ask whether MOQ applies per design, per colour or across a mixed batch.
- MOQ: write the unit (piece, set or carton) and the quantity that was actually confirmed.
- Lead time: define the start event—deposit, drawing approval or sample approval—and keep transit separate.
- Export packing: specify individual bag/box, carton quantity, shipping marks, barcode and neutral or blank packaging.
- Documents: keep the SKU, revision, issuer, scope and validity date beside each report.
For aftermarket spare parts export, add destination country, port, preferred shipping term and whether a pre-shipment inspection is required.
4. Keep the RFQ evidence together
Save the approved photo, fitment note, material, finish, MOQ, packing instruction and supplier response under one stable SKU. This prevents a certificate, product image or quote for one part from being reused for another.
Our category specification resources include a printable RFQ field list. You can then review the motorcycle parts catalog or send the completed brief through the RFQ route.
Frequently asked questions
Can a model name alone confirm compatibility?
No. Model, year, market version and mounting evidence should be matched before a quotation is treated as fitment-confirmed.
Is a displayed MOQ a guaranteed bulk MOQ?
No. Treat a displayed MOQ as a reference until the selected supplier confirms the SKU, quantity, colour mix and packing.
What makes a distributor RFQ easier to compare?
A single brief with fitment, material, dimensions, finish, quantity, neutral packing, destination and document requirements lets suppliers quote the same scope.
