Motorcycle clutch plates: wholesale RFQ checklist

For a useful clutch-plate quote, identify the exact reference and vehicle version, define what the requested set must include, and ask the seller to confirm specifications and fitment in writing. A category label or photo alone does not settle those details.

Published For importers, distributors and repair-parts wholesalers
Quick answer

Send the part or catalogue reference, exact make/model/year and market version, photos of markings, quantity per reference, requested set contents, any known measurements, packing needs and destination. Ask the supplier to list friction plates and steel plates separately, state what the price includes, and flag anything not yet confirmed.

01 · identify the request

Start with the exact part and vehicle version

“Clutch plate” can describe different line items or a set. Give the seller enough context to identify the reference you mean, then ask them to show which evidence supports their match.

Part identity

Write whether you need friction plates, steel plates, or a defined combination. Include the original part number, your catalogue reference, brand or markings when available.

Vehicle details

Provide make, model, year, engine or trim code if known, and the destination market version. Do not rely on a model nickname alone when several variants may exist.

Photos and measurements

Attach clear images of both sides, labels and visible markings. If you measured the original, include the unit and the points measured; ask the seller to confirm what each listed dimension means.

Evidence to return

Ask the supplier to repeat the matched reference and vehicle details in the quotation, identify any unresolved field, and provide the available item-level photos or specification record.

VOBOM catalogue example: One reviewed supplier listing is labelled 22201-KWW-601, and its source photo shows a clutch friction plate. The label and photo do not verify OEM status, dimensions, vehicle fitment, or whether the quoted unit is one plate or a set. Use the supplier-listed reference page as an identification lead, then request written confirmation of the exact item and selling unit.

02 · define the set

Make every quote use the same contents and price basis

Before comparing prices, ask the supplier to itemize the proposed scope. Record how many friction plates and steel plates are included, whether they are quoted as individual pieces or a set, and whether any other parts are included. Do not assume that a “kit” contains the same items across sellers.

  • Request the plate count and item names for each quoted set.
  • Ask which material description, finish or specification the seller is offering, and what document or sample can support it.
  • State the quantity per reference and whether the request is for a sample, trial quantity or planned repeat order.
  • Specify the requested packing unit, label language and barcode needs; ask the supplier to confirm the actual packing proposal.
Keep the quote comparable: If two offers use different references, plate counts, packing units or measurement definitions, ask for an itemized revision before comparing totals.

03 · close the information gap

Ask for a written answer to the open fields

1

Match the reference

Request the seller’s proposed item code, the vehicle variant used for the match and any remaining fitment question.

2

Define the specification

Ask the supplier to state the offered material, set contents and measurement definitions. Separate confirmed data from estimates or unavailable records.

3

Confirm the order terms

Request price basis, MOQ, sample availability, lead time, packing, payment recipient and delivery terms in the same written quotation.

A catalogue entry is an identification lead only. VOBOM’s catalogue groups clutch friction and steel plate references, but that grouping does not verify fitment, material, stock, MOQ or current price for a specific order.

Buyer questions

Clutch plate wholesale RFQ questions

Does a motorcycle model name prove a clutch plate will fit?

No. Provide the year and market or variant details available, then ask the seller to confirm the exact reference and state any unresolved fitment checks in writing.

Can I compare two suppliers by unit price?

Only after the reference, item count, set contents, quantity basis and packing scope match. Ask for an itemized quote when the offers use different scopes.

What if I do not have the original part number?

Send the vehicle details, clear photos of the part and markings, and measurements you can verify. Ask the seller to identify what still needs confirmation before ordering.

Does this guide confirm product stock or provide repair instructions?

No. It helps prepare a wholesale enquiry. Availability, specifications, compatibility and commercial terms need written confirmation for each order; use the vehicle maker’s service information and a qualified technician for repair decisions.
